Strong and Aesthetic Ceramic Implants and Abutments for the Dental Industry

Introduction

High quality standards need to be maintained in the dental industry and aesthetics are an important aspect in this context. Some of the main items used in dental implantology include crowns, implants and abutments. In the majority of cases, both the abutment and implant are made from titanium. However, although titanium-based implants are quite inconspicuous, the titanium abutment along with the mild transparency of the crown may show as a visible, grey area.

When dealing with individuals suffering from periodontal disease, aesthetics becomes even more of an issue and this is where ceramic implants and abutments come into play. Zirconia (ZrO2) is a material that meets the technical and biocompatibility requirements for these items and it has been approved as the most suitable ceramic to use.

Picoparts' Unique Offerings for the Dental Industry

Picoparts has extensive experience in designing and producing small precision parts made of Zirconia, which led to the company founding a Dental Division in 2008. Since that time, the division has become increasingly experienced, establishing its reputation and expanding its client base. Picoparts produces Zirconia abutments that meet customer requirements, as well as the finest demands and tolerances.

The cold pressing method used, along with the selection of high quality Zirconia powders and consistent quality control are features of Picoparts manufacturing process that lead to the production of such fine quality abutments. This innovative company also offers additional dental ceramic products, owing to its vast experience of dental market needs and the production of precision ceramic parts.

Zirconia Abutment with Titanium Base

The anatomic Zirconia abutment has a special titanium base (Figure 1), which makes it much stronger than Full Zirconia abutments. External laboratory testing confirmed that this combined structure was as strong as the titanium-made abutment, meaning clients can benefit from having a bright white abutment that is just as strong as a full titanium abutment.

2mm Collar Zirconia Abutment with Titanium Base

The anatomic Zirconia abutment with 2 mm collar has a special titanium base (Figure 2), which makes it much stronger than Full Zirconia abutments. External laboratory testing confirmed that this combined structure is as strong as the titanium-made abutment, meaning clients can benefit from having a bright white abutment that is just as strong as a full titanium abutment.

Angular Zirconia Abutment

The angular Zirconia dental abutment has a 150 angle and an anatomic shape (Figure 3) that makes dental work easier to perform.
