The new study analyses the causes of these disparities, starting with Spanish trends between 1951 and 2006 in terms of certain changes in consumption (tobacco, alcohol, red and processed meat, fish, vegetables...) and also behaviour (physical exercise, sedentary lifestyles-).

CCAC doubles its efforts to convince Canadians to prevent colorectal cancer

Following the results of the Angus Reid Strategies and the Applied Health Research Centre at Toronto's St. Michael's Hospital survey conducted on behalf of the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer finding that the majority of Canadians have a good understanding of the benefits of colorectal cancer screening, but are not taking action to get screened, the Colorectal Cancer Association of Canada ("CCAC") is doubling its efforts in 2010 to convince Canadians that they must be more proactive concerning their health and the onset of colorectal cancer.

The study is in ACS' Journal of Natural Products, a monthly publication. Cancer patients with dementia have lower survival rate than patients with cancer alone, says study

A new study published by researchers from the University of Georgia and the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Fla., has found that cancer patients with dementia have a dramatically lower survival rate than patients with cancer alone, even after controlling for factors such as age, tumor type and tumor stage.
