The American Medical Group Association announced that its Patient Satisfaction Benchmarking Program was recently recognized among the largest patient-satisfaction firms in 2006 by Modern Healthcare.
In its December 3, 2007 issue, the publication released the findings from its 2007 Patient-Satisfaction Measurement Firms Survey and ranked AMGA's program number 10 in a ranking of firms by total number of engagements in 2006. AMGA was the only healthcare association represented on the list.
“This finding demonstrates the value our members find in this program,” said Donald W. Fisher, Ph.D., CAE, AMGA President and Chief Executive Officer. “Participation has grown steadily over the years and now we have a large cohort of participants, which makes the data much more valuable in enabling medical groups to provide quality care and continually enhance the patient experience.”
The program is one of several developed by the association to meet the needs of the many medical groups that want solid comparative data by which to measure their operational performance. AMGA understands the challenges inherent in mining and reporting data critical to the successful operation of a medical group. By using AMGA's comprehensive data resources, medical groups are able to benchmark their performance against a diverse array of groups from across the country.
- Patient Satisfaction Benchmarking Program: A low-cost, standardized process for collecting patient satisfaction data that enables groups to compare results to other leading multispecialty groups across the country.
- Provider Satisfaction Benchmarking Program: A low-cost, standardized process for collecting data on provider satisfaction that enables groups to compare results to medical groups throughout the country.
- Anceta: Collaborative data warehouse project in development allows medical groups to build and maintain individual files of practice management, clinical, and quality benchmarks. Allows comparisons with groups of similar size and structure.
In addition to the data services, AMGA also serves as a conduit to best practices developed at medical groups to improve patient and provider satisfaction and other metrics of care.
