UC Irvine's Eclipsys SCM and eLink Interface Engine implementation guided by Orchestrate Healthcare

Orchestrate Healthcare, the leader in healthcare technical consulting and recipient of the 2008 “Best in KLAS” Achievement Award for Technical Services, has partnered with UC Irvine Healthcare to provide technical and managerial guidance in their implementation of the Eclipsys Sunrise Clinical Manager (SCM) and eLink Interface Engine. With Orchestrate Healthcare’s immense knowledge base of the Eclipsys eLink Interface Engine, UC Irvine has experienced a positive acceleration in implementation of their Master Patient Index (MPI) from their legacy system, including historical results availability from multiple ancillary systems.

“We took a project that had a high risk factor for missing its established go-live date, assessed various internal management task concerns, and then created a cohesive working unit with the UC Irvine IT staff,” said Charlie Cook, Orchestrate Healthcare CEO. Once this was achieved, the experienced consultants from Orchestrate Healthcare were able to quickly perform a detailed design of the required tasks to get UC Irvine to their go-live date while coordinating technical resources to achieve this goal.

Included in this technical and managerial guidance effort is the mentoring of UC Irvine IT staff to expand their current knowledge of the eLink Integration System.

"By leveraging Orchestrate Healthcare’s expertise, we positioned their team to mentor our young integration team, while also building repeatable processes and templates so our own integration team has best practice standards to use as we address our many interface demands going forward," said Jim Murry, Chief Information Officer, UC Irvine Health Affairs.

UC Irvine and Orchestrate Healthcare continue this evolving partnership with the planning and implementation of additional organizational projects that will position UC Irvine as a leading educator in healthcare technology and management.
