DataSource partners with Rural Health to help customers secure grants for EHR projects

DataSource Mobility is committed to helping healthcare customers achieve their IT goals. As part of that commitment, they have extended their capabilities by partnering with Rural Health IT Corporation (Rural Health), to provide customers with assistance in securing grant funding for EHR projects up to $1.2 million.

Today’s healthcare goals are focused on lowering costs by creating an infrastructure that can enhance the quality of disease management. According to Earle Rugg, CEO, Rural Health IT, “There are approximately 100,000 deaths a year because of errors and omissions. With Electronic Health Records (EHR), Health Information Exchange (HIE) and good chronic disease management solutions, deaths can be substantially reduced and costs can be significantly decreased. By partnering with DataSource Mobility, we will work with customers that want to deploy an EHR solution and need the funding, to ensure they receive the grant monies before they deploy the technology.”

Bill Presler, Managing Partner, DataSource Mobility comments, “In today’s economy it’s more important than ever to preserve capital, while meeting the demands of patient care with the latest advancements in technology. We are answering this need with our partnership with Rural Health IT which enables us to assist customers with the grant application process, securing the funding and deploying the EHR solution. Our customers can secure funding before they deploy the technology, without having to pay any money back. And since we will continue to submit a grant until the funding is approved, it’s the perfect scenario. Guaranteed!”

The grant writing services take up to 500 hours to complete due to the specifics of the healthcare technology. Applicants must be able to delineate how they will capture information and improve chronic diseases as a result of the technology, thus illustrating the ROI on the technology solution. The process is both arduous and complex. With a 100% success rate, the partnership is proving to assist health providers secure the funding they need to deploy their EHR solution. DataSource Mobility and Rural Health can assist with:

  • HIT Analysis and Development
  • EHR Project Funding via Grants
  • Identification and Discovery
  • Development of Grant Process
  • Consultation and Management of Program with Grant Offices
  • Deployment of EHR solution

Bill continues, “There is much confusion between stimulus funds and grants. Grant awards do not preclude customers from applying for stimulus funding through the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act. While grant funding is available now, ARRA incentives for ‘Meaningful Use’ qualifiers will begin in 2011, or once ‘Meaningful Use’ is achieved. Our partnership with Rural Health is yet another example of how we are helping our customers realize the best ROI possible - today.”
