IDC to supply DR systems for Indian hospitals

IDC (Imaging Dynamics Company Ltd.) (TSX: IDL), announced it was awarded three separate contracts in June 2009 with hospitals in India to supply its high end X-Series 1590 digital radiography (DR) systems and Magellan software following an extensive process in which the IDC CCD-based DR technology was determined to provide the best combination of value and clinical performance. The systems were shipped and recognized in the second quarter of 2009.

The prominent medical institutions; King Edward Memorial Hospital, Lokmanya Tilak Muncipal General Hospital and BYL Nair Charitable Hospital, all of Mumbai, India, are expected to complete installations of the IDC DR systems by the end of 2009.

The King Edward Memorial Hospital in considered to be one of the foremost teaching and medical facilities in India. This 1800 bed hospital treats 1.8 million out-patients and 68,000 in-patients on average each year.

Lokmanya Tilak Muncipal General Hospital, formerly a military hospital; is now one of the most progressive, modern facilities in India with trauma and intensive care departments that are the first to be called in for major emergencies and natural disaster response.

The BYL Nair Charitable Hospital is a 1300 bed multi-specialty hospital that predominantly caters to the health needs of the urban poor from all over India.
