Ankota releases Healthcare Delivery Management software

Ankota, Inc. a Baltimore, MD-based software company, announced today the release of the Ankota Healthcare Delivery Management (HDM) software suite for Home Medical Equipment (HME), Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and Respiratory Therapy (RT). The software helps these organizations improve the efficiency of their deliveries, saving up to 30% in delivery costs, greening the environment by using less gasoline, and increasing customer satisfaction through increased responsiveness.

This new solution brings the same caliber of scheduling capability to home medical equipment that consumers and businesses experience when they get packages via FedEx or UPS. The Ankota solution is optimized for health care, where urgent delivery needs can arise at any time and need to be integrated with the rest of the work. The system also offers a care planning capability so when, for example, an oxygen patient requires monthly supplies and periodic inspections of their equipment, each of these visits can be planned well in advance. Then each time a new appointment is scheduled for a delivery, the system knows when a driver is already going to the same neighborhood and schedules the delivery accordingly.

"Ankota will help thousands who are sick, recovering from hospitalization, or fighting an everyday battle against chronic illness at home," explained Ankota CEO Will Hicklen. "Adding the coordination of equipment delivery into our product is another key step in fulfilling our mission to improve care coordination at home." The Ankota product for HME, DME and RT complements existing Ankota products for home care and private duty nursing.
