Shore Memorial Hospital to implement MRO’S Audit Tracker Online software

MRO Corp., the market leader of shared-service, release-of-information (ROI) and audit tracking solutions for healthcare providers, today announced Shore Memorial Hospital (Somers Point, N.J.) has contracted to implement Audit Tracker Online. The request management software and service enables hospitals and health systems to effectively manage the Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) process and other payer audits from initial medical records request through appeals and payment resolution.

Through this agreement, Shore Memorial Hospital, a not-for-profit community hospital with 296 licensed beds and more than 350 physicians, will integrate Audit Tracker Online with its existing release-of-information processing software and service from MRO. The customizable software will allow the facility to manage patient information, workflow, correspondence, audit determinations and the various stages of each appeals process in one central, secure location.

“The financial performance of a hospital can be negatively impacted by payer audits and subsequent denials, but the scope of healthcare provider audits extends beyond the current focus on RACs,” said John Walton, vice president of sales & marketing, MRO. “Audit Tracker Online will allow Shore Memorial to monitor and manage a variety of payer audits and denials – including private payers, quality improvement organizations and other Medicare- and Medicaid-based audits.”

In addition to tracking all aspects of audit processes, the hospital will use the application to create detailed trend analyses, identifying steps that will allow them to enhance their claims processes and improve clinical and financial information in an effort to avoid future audits.
