Aprima Medical Software (originally iMedica), a leading developer of electronic health record (EHR) and practice management (PM) systems for medical practices, today announced that Bend Urology Associates has selected Aprima for its 10-provider practice located in Bend, Oregon. Following years of research into various vendors, the practice made the decision after a positive experience with Aprima's "Take-A-Tablet" program, a week-long trial with the software running on a Fujitsu tablet computer.
Following a quick and successful 90-day implementation, Bend went live with Aprima in June. By week four, the providers were seeing the same number of patients daily as they had been prior to go-live. Bend has already experienced significant improvement in the efficiency of both clinical and administrative workflow.
"We were able to partner and work closely with the Aprima team on customizing the application to suit our workflow and content needs, both as a practice and on an individual clinician basis," said Dr. Michel Boileau, managing physician at Bend Urology Associates. "Based on our feedback, Aprima was able to build in the enhanced functionality and workflows that make sense for us and support a specialty practice like ours, while also offering individual work style preferences allowing each provider to find the most comfortable way to adjust to the solution."
Bend also needed to have the practice management functionality work with a payment card processor, and Aprima offers such capability with Easy Pay Solutions, a technology partner.
"Easy Pay integration was extremely important to the practice, and Aprima's EHR already had this built in, allowing for a smooth transition," said Angela Jordan, Bend's practice administrator who also serves as President of the MGMA Urology Administration Assembly (UAA). "Other capabilities that we weighed included PQRI measures and Aprima's built-in kiosk functionality which allowed us to continue minimizing patient wait time."
"Aprima provides physicians and their staff with a methodical, seamless implementation experience," said Michael Nissenbaum, President and CEO of Aprima. "A successful transition, like Bend Urology, exists when the practice identifies their workflows and commits to embracing the advantages that Aprima's technology offers. Bend has taken its practice to a whole new level of efficiency and patient satisfaction, a leading objective here at Aprima."
