Sandata Technologies and Allscripts sign agreement to implement Santrax

Sandata Technologies, Inc., a leading nationwide provider of information technology solutions to the home healthcare and social services communities, today announced an agreement with Allscripts the leader in software, services, information, and connectivity solutions for physicians, hospitals and post-acute providers, making Santrax the preferred electronic time and attendance provider for current and future home care agency clients of Allscripts.

Santrax is Sandata's patented time and attendance product and the nation's number one telephone and web-based field management solution. Santrax enables home care agencies to automatically verify that their staff is in the right place at the right time and to capture tasks being performed, ensuring compliance with the prescribed plan of care and ensuring that patients are receiving the highest quality of care. In addition, Santrax is able to utilize voice biometrics to further verify the identity of the home care worker, provide alerts when a home care worker does not show up within a specified time frame and track employee mileage.

These capabilities are expected to help home care agencies become integral parts of the Patient Centered Medical Home - an increasingly popular approach to patient care that utilizes information technologies such as Allscripts and Santrax to help ensure patients receive comprehensive care in the setting they need and want.

"We considered a number of potential partners and determined that Sandata, with 30 years of experience as the pioneer of electronic time and attendance in home care, its scale as a processor of over 80 million telephone calls annually and the strength of its patented Santrax system, is clearly the market leader," said Lee Shapiro, President of Allscripts. "Our growing base of home care clients is looking to utilize electronic tools such as Santrax to streamline operations, eliminate paper and improve the quality of care they deliver and this new agreement makes that easier for our clients to accomplish."

Harold Blue, Vice Chairman of Sandata, said, "We are delighted that Allscripts, the industry leader in home care automation, has selected Santrax for its existing and future home care customers. These home care agencies will be able to enjoy the benefits of greater electronic connectivity and eliminate cumbersome, inefficient and error-prone paper driven processes. We look forward to a long and successful partnership with Allscripts."

Santrax requires no upfront investment in equipment and only minimal training, as it involves a simple telephone call from the patient's location of care.

Allscripts Homecare is the industry leading home care system designed to improve clinical quality of care, financial performance, and operational control for large, integrated home care organizations and small home care companies. Business, clinical, and scheduling functionality for multiple lines of business - home health, hospice, and private duty - are combined seamlessly in one integrated software system. The Allscripts homecare solution also can be conveniently interfaced with Allscripts Care Management, simplifying communication between the home care agency and discharge planners in hundreds of hospitals across the US. Automated electronic data transfer between the hospital and home care agency can speed service to patients, increase referrals, improve revenue flow, reduce administrative time and ensure continuity of care.
