Alacer launches new Emergen-C, a vitamin drink to boost immune systems

A new tasty citrus-flavored vitamin drink is now being offered in a 2.5 ounce liquid shots nationwide to help give immune systems a healthy boost this Fall.

Emergen-C Immune+(TM) is a new formula providing a fun, healthy and convenient way to get a concentrated boost of immune-strengthening nutrients. The new Emergen-C Immune+ is comprised of the original Emergen-C(®)( )formula, containing 1,000 milligrams of vitamin C, plus a proprietary immune complex with beta glucans, a healthy dose of zinc and a host of other nutrients - all working together to help support the body's natural immune function.

This new vitamin drink is available in the familiar fizzy drink mix packets, but also comes in new concentrated 2.5-ounce liquid shots, establishing Emergen-C as the first vitamin supplement to offer an immune system boosting liquid shot.

"People are becoming more aware of this new growing trend toward shot products, but Emergen-C has taken it to an entirely new level by offering a new shot that is truly healthy," said J.J. Virgin, a nationally-renowned nutritionist who has recommended Emergen-C fizzy drink mix to her clients for several years. "I love the fact that the Emergen-C products have no artificial sweeteners and no preservatives. It's all good for you."

Virgin, who may be best known for her appearances on the Dr. Phil Show, is a UCLA graduate with a doctoral degree in health and fitness. In her recent travels, she has seen a growing number of people across the country taking steps to stay healthy and recommends maintaining a proactive approach.

"So many people are looking for ways to boost their immune health right now," said Virgin, who continually promotes the basics of staying healthy. "We know that diet, exercise and sleep are very important, but we can't always commit to that lifestyle.

"From my perspective, Emergen-C is the quick and easy solution to getting some cutting-edge nutrients. The formula is impressive and let's face it, it's cool to be healthy. But it takes a lot of work, so Emergen-C gives us a real shot."

Ron Fugate, president and chief executive officer of Alacer Corp., maker of Emergen-C, said that the new Emergen-C Immune+ shot was developed to meet the needs of those with high stress lifestyles that are always on the go. The Emergen-C shots are fun and practical for them.

"Our goal is to provide a product that delivers immune-boosting vitamins in a concentrated, fast, convenient and enjoyable form," said Fugate, recognizing that a certain group greatly needs those product attributes. "College students face great obstacles to staying healthy. With a son in college, I fully understand the challenges of living arrangements along with demanding educational and social commitments. For them, quick and convenient vitamins are most definitely the ticket to maintaining their health."

With so much interest in staying healthy on campus this Fall, Emergen-C will be giving away a month's supply of shots to college students via their "Big Shots on Campus" contest. More information coming soon to emergencshots.com.
