Noveko International Inc. ("the Company") is pleased to announce the launch of its new Microban(R) line of hand sanitizers. The hand sanitizers formerly marketed under the AZURO(TM) brand are now sold under the Microban(R) brand name, pursuant to the terms of the August 2009 agreement with Microban International, Ltd. ("Microban"), the global leader in built-in antimicrobial product protection.
"We are very proud of this strategic milestone in the market development of our hand sanitizers. The Microban(R) brand is recognized around the world as a guarantee of effective, durable antimicrobial protection. The reputation of the Microban(R) brand used on over 750 products worldwide, combined with the high-performance antimicrobial properties of our products, which kill 99.9% of common germs on contact thanks to 70% to 80% alcohol concentrations, will enable to further penetrate the different segments of the institutional and retail markets on a global scale," indicated Alain Bolduc, President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company.
Production of the various AZURO(TM) hand sanitizer formats has been replaced by the production of Microban(R) hand sanitizers. These use the same quality formula as formerly and will gradually replace the AZURO(TM) products. The new Microban(R) line of hand sanitizers also includes two new 60 ml and 250 ml formats.
The activities related to Noveko Inc.'s sanitizers achieved major breakthroughs during fiscal 2009, especially in the high-potential hospital and institutional segments. Today, whereas the population is further aware of the importance and benefits associated with the proper use of sanitizers in maintaining good hand hygiene, the Company is also pleased to announce that it is intensifying the marketing of its hand sanitizers on a wider scale, making them available to the population at large. Microban(R) hand sanitizers will be sold by several Canadian leaders in the food and drug retail markets, such as Shoppers Drug Mart/Pharmaprix, the Jean Coutu Group (PJC) Inc., the Brunet pharmacies, the Rexall pharmacies of Katz Group Canada Ltd., the Safeway supermarkets as well as the Metro Inc. supermarkets and grocery stores. McMahon Distributeur pharmaceutique Inc. and Mc Kesson Canada will also distribute the Microban(R) hand sanitizers in the retail market.
