CDA launches Acne And Rosacea Awareness Campaigns

The temperature drop outside is leaving many Canadians red in the face but dermatologists say the culprit could be acne or rosacea. The Canadian Dermatology Association (CDA) is launching Acne and Rosacea Awareness Campaigns to give sufferers the advice they need to cope with these diseases.

The cooler weather is an unwelcome trigger for rosacea, and so is added stress of the holiday season, which is also known to aggravate acne. Acne is the most common skin disease seen by doctors and rosacea is often misdiagnosed as adult acne. Both of these troubling skin conditions can seriously affect confidence and self-esteem.

CDA has created public education materials to help sufferers control and manage these conditions; help minimize the pain, discomfort and embarrassment of these diseases, when they should see a dermatologist and valuable skin care tips.
