Quantros announces the availability of MMSEA Manager, an application facilitating the online reporting of claims data required by CMS for Medicare clients who are part of a lawsuit and/or an ongoing medical payment or settlement. Testing and optional submission of MMSEA claim input files began January 1, 2010, with mandatory submission beginning April 1, 2010. The application is the latest addition to the Quantros Safety and Risk Management (SRM) product family.
MMSEA stands for Medicare, Medicaid and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007.
The Quantros MMSEA module helps organizations fulfill the complex reporting requirements laid out in Section 111 of the Medicare, Medicaid and SCHIP Extension Act of 2007 (MMSEA). The new reporting requirements include completing more than 180 submission fields in MMSEA's format, reporting during particular and varied weeks and applying standards for inclusion appropriately. Compliance with MMSEA is crucial - Responsible Reporting Entities (RREs) are subject to fines of $1000 per day per event for noncompliance or late reporting.
The MMSEA Manager was designed to work with the Quantros SRM™ solution, pulling information directly from the solution's Claims Manager or Event Manager modules. However, manual data entry is supported as well.
"Regulatory and quality compliance reporting requirements are growing more complex and the penalties more severe," explains Quantros President and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sanjaya Kumar. "Administrative healthcare professionals are increasingly going to need to rely on automated solutions in order to fulfill these requirements. This will also afford them the opportunity to devote more of their time to activities that will bring value to their organizations."
