Telecare Corporation, Eisenhower Medical Center partner to manage a new inpatient geropyschiatric program

Telecare Corporation announced today that it has partnered with Eisenhower Medical Center to manage a new inpatient geropyschiatric program. Eisenhower is a 313-bed hospital serving the Palm Springs/Rancho Mirage and greater Coachella Valley area of California.

"We are delighted to partner with such a prestigious organization, known for its high quality and commitment to innovative, leading edge care," said Anne Bakar, Chief Executive Officer of Telecare Corporation. "Our expertise in acute psychiatric care, combined with Eisenhower's commitment to meeting the complex needs of older adults in its community, will make this a model program for those with acute mental health needs."

The program will be housed at Eisenhower and will serve individuals over age 55 with a primary psychiatric diagnosis. The program is expected to open in July 2010 and to be licensed for 15 - 25 beds.

"Telecare's deep experience and dedication to meeting the needs of psychiatric patients is a perfect match for our commitment to the needs of older adults in our community," said G. Aubrey Serfling, President and Chief Executive Officer of Eisenhower Medical Center. "Their expertise and passion is impressive and makes Telecare an ideal partner as we seek new ways to offer our patients comprehensive and holistic world-class care."

"Often an older adult has a medical problem along with their mental illness," said Serfling. "A hospital-based program like this will enable medical conditions to be treated at the same time."
