QualiSystems today announced
the release of TestShell Resource Manager, an advanced application for lab
resource reservation, scheduling and management. Resource Manager is the
latest module in the award-winning TestShell end-to-end test automation
framework (http://tinyurl.com/TestShell ).
TestShell Resource Manager (http://tinyurl.com/ResMngr) is a significant
solution for optimized and efficient testing processes that can minimize cost
and efforts in networking and electronic test labs. Designed to improve test
lab efficiency including in complex networking labs or distributed
organizations, Resource Manager maximizes all lab resource utilization and
significantly accelerates testing team performance.
The solution enables multiple users to load, create, lock and reserve any
number, type or brand of test resource, allowing them to be automatically
scheduled and coordinated between various users, including across distributed
sites.
With embedded layer1 switch control, Resource Manager automatically
reserves all paths required for test execution and wraps multiple switches
into an easy-to-control cloud, using a shortest-path algorithm to guarantee
effective monitoring. A built-in tracking system reports on resource use for
increased efficiency in the lab management.
TestShell Resource Manager has been designed to address key customer
issues across the whole testing cycle. Eitan Lavie, QualiSystems Director of
Technologies, said: "We realized that one of the greatest challenges our
customers face is to manage and control multiple testing resources. Test
errors and interruptions are all too common due to a lack of resource
reservation capabilities, resulting in time and data loss as well as repeated
efforts. Test instruments are extremely costly so ensuring their optimal
utilization becomes a critical issue. TestShell Resource Manager answers
these challenges while reducing lab setup time and maximizing all lab
resource usage, even in complex setups and across large testing teams."
The new Resource Manager seamlessly integrates with existing TestShell
test automation solutions for advanced test optimization. It is now available
from QualiSystems' global sales offices and partner network as an optional
(client-server) module for the TestShell Team and Enterprise Editions.
