Simplex Healthcare to implement comprehensive wellness program for employees

Simplex Healthcare today announced that it is partnering with Onlife Health, a national personal health coaching company, to implement a comprehensive wellness program for its more than 300 employees. The program officially kicks off on Monday, Feb. 15 with the opening of Simplex’s new fitness center.

“Since our founding, Simplex Healthcare has been committed to helping our associates lead healthy lifestyles, from hosting office weight loss challenges to adding healthy choices in our vending machines”

“Since our founding, Simplex Healthcare has been committed to helping our associates lead healthy lifestyles, from hosting office weight loss challenges to adding healthy choices in our vending machines,” said Doug Hudson, CEO and founder of Simplex. “In fact, a guiding principle at Simplex is ‘Live Well, Be Well’ because we believe that creating a healthy workplace creates healthy and happy employees. This principle translates to our patients and ultimately our success. Onlife is a recognized leader in personal health promotion, and we are so proud to bring its services to our employees.”

The new fitness center at Simplex will feature a mix of cardio equipment and weights. During the grand opening on Feb. 15, employees will have an opportunity to tour the facility, register for a chance to win free personal training sessions, and participate in biometric screenings with Onlife personnel. In addition to the grand opening of the fitness center, Simplex is partnering with Onlife to offer the following customized services:

  • A 10-week program in which Onlife health coaches will work one-on-one with a select number of employees to achieve wellness and fitness goals. This intensive weight management and fitness program will include personal dietetic consults with a Registered Dietitian and weekly fitness class instruction.
  • An ongoing personal fitness and wellness program.
  • Nutrition classes.
  • Pre- and post-program biometric screening which tests flexibility, blood pressure, strength and risk for disease.

In addition, this spring Simplex will serve as a beta site for a new Onlife Health coaching program and portal.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with a progressive employer like Simplex Healthcare,” said Chris Hunter, CEO of Onlife. “At Onlife, our mission is to inspire positive living and guide people to make lasting changes in their lives. Simplex has been doing that with its employees for years. Now, by implementing a program with Onlife that includes personal, online and social support, Simplex can take its wellness initiative to a new level.”

Simplex recently moved into a new, larger facility in Franklin, giving the company more room to expand its wellness initiatives and add a fitness center. In the past, Simplex has promoted wellness through weight loss challenges among employees, by providing nutritional information, and by participating in the American Diabetes Association’s annual fundraising walk.

With the move to Franklin, Simplex is planning to double its workforce.
