The National Center for Electron Beam Research, located on the campus of Texas A&M University, will conduct a week-long, hands-on workshop in E-Beam and X-ray Irradiation Technologies April 4-8.
The objectives are to provide attendees with an understanding of the basic principles of ionizing irradiation for food pasteurization, phytosanitary applications, environmental applications and pharmaceutical sterilization.
The event will also show how E-beam and X-ray irradiation inactivates microbes and insects and give attendees a better understanding of how the technology works and impart an understanding of the equipment and other infrastructure needs.
The workshop costs $2,145 USD and includes four nights hotel, lunches, refreshments, a handbook and other materials.
