HOYA ConBio, a global leader in aesthetic medical lasers, will introduce the DermaSculpt Er:YAG and the MedLite C5 Q-Switched Nd:YAG lasers at the 68th Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology, March 5-9th at the Miami Convention Center (Booth #819). The two new lasers are additions to the respected portfolio of the company's advanced devices to provide clinically proven, reliable solutions for the broadest range of aesthetic indications.
"We are excited to bring to market two premium lasers that continue our tradition of superior engineering, value and reliability," said Timothy Gehlmann, President and CEO, HOYA ConBio. "As one of the pioneers in the aesthetic laser industry, we are proud to be able to grow our family of lasers over nearly two decades to meet the needs of a dynamic and evolving marketplace."
DermaSculpt
The DermaSculpt Er:YAG is the only Erbium laser to deliver the 2940 wavelength in three ways:
- Sculpturization is a fractionated mode for treatment of fine lines and photo-damage, with a conservative non-ablative mode and a deeper ablative setting;
- Polish Peel delivers light to deep ablation for treatment of more advanced resurfacing;
- Chisel Touch fine-tunes the Erbium wavelength to treat small diverse cutaneous lesions with precision.
Khalil Khatri, M.D., of Skin & Laser Surgery in Nashua, N.H., worked with the DermaSculpt laser in pre-launch clinical studies. He is especially impressed with its ability to deliver a combination of modalities – at either light or more aggressive power settings - for customized patient treatment. "A light Polish Peel can treat superficial irregularities, followed by Sculpturization to stimulate collagen remodeling on a deeper level," said Dr. Khatri. "As a final step, the Chisel Touch can eliminate individual lesions including seborrheic keratoses. Frankly, there is no other laser that can offer all three procedures in a single reliable platform."
"Added to this tremendous versatility is the strong safety heritage of Erbium lasers," said Gehlmann. "Physicians understand that the Erbium wavelength delivers safer, more efficient vaporization and absorption over CO2 lasers, resulting in more positive patient outcomes. We expect that practices of all sizes will benefit from the customization profile of the DermaSculpt laser."
MedLite C5
The new MedLite C5 laser is the latest addition to the popular line of MedLite C Series Q-Switched Nd:YAG lasers, featuring the nanosecond pulse widths that are the hallmark of PhotoAcoustic technology. With two versatile wavelengths (1064nm and 532 nm), the C5 is an affordable system ideal for skin rejuvenation, wrinkle/scar reduction and basic (black/red) tattoo removal. The MedLite C5 can be easily upgraded to a MedLite C6 for increased power across all applications, allowing the ability to use Multi-Lite dye hand pieces (adding 585 nm and 650 nm wavelengths) for treatment of more elaborate multi-color tattoos.
"The MedLite C5 offers the advantages of the gold-standard technology found in the MedLite C6, adapted for practices that don't have a need for treatment of advanced colored tattoos," said Gehlmann. "That said, the system is upgradable to the full power of a MedLite C6 should the practice grow to need that flexibility."
