Are you facing an issue that's having an effect on your life? Do you wish you had a secure environment where you could share openly and get real-life solutions you can start applying immediately? Enter FOCUS 7, a new forum in metro Detroit where individuals can meet, participate and learn how to resolve specific issues with the help of an expert on that topic.
FOCUS 7 is the brainchild of Leslie Ann Pilling, owner of Presence II Productions in Bloomfield Hills, whose vision is to provide a foundation to inspire the understanding of important everyday situations and life challenges. "I wanted a forum to discuss topics people generally don't talk about," says Pilling, who has a background in psychology. "There are so many issues affecting our daily lives, and often people don't know whom they can trust or where to find good advice. This forum provides a safe, candid environment where sharing is applauded, and attendees can get real-life solutions they can immediately put into practice."
The first FOCUS 7 forum is Thursday, March 25, 2010, from 6-9 p.m. at the Somerset Inn in Troy. The first hour is a meet and greet with the expert, followed by the "edutainment" forum, which includes an open Q&A throughout, allowing the attendees to gain knowledge of immediate solutions along with other's perspectives. Tickets for the forum are $35.
The topic, "How to Live with the Narcissist in Your Life" will be presented by Dr. Sonia Pone, PhD, MSW, a licensed marital and family psychologist with 34 years of experience. Dr. Pone is an adjunct professor at Wayne State University School of Medicine, president of the Michigan Psychoanalytic Foundation and past-president of Women Exchanging Business. Dr. Pone has a practice at the Elm Street Clinic in Birmingham.
Upcoming forums include "How to Raise a Child with a Conscience" and "State of the Union: Dealing with the Outside Forces Threatening Marriages; Internet sex, Affairs, Money, etc".
