OHC invites public and organizations' opinions on local hospital services

On Tuesday March 23rd, the Ontario Heath Coalition will begin its final week of a month long tour that began March 4th and has held hearings in Wallaceburg, Shelburne, Kincardine, Welland, Port Perry, Cobourg, Haliburton, and Burk's Falls. By the end of this week, the panel will have visited every region in Ontario.

The OHC has invited the public and local organizations to bring their concerns and recommendations about their local hospital services to a non-partisan panel, made up of well-respected experts. Panelists include:

Dr. Claudette Chase, Sioux Lookout Hon. Roger Gallaway, retired MP, Lib. Sarnia Lambton France Gelinas, MPP, NDP Health Critic, Nickel Belt Dr. Tim Macdonald, Petrolia Natalie Mehra, Director, Ontario Health Coalition Barb Proctor, Ret'd RN, Picton Kay Tod, Ret'd RN, Burk's Falls

So far the Panel has collected over 300 submissions from the public, which will be used to form a report that will be delivered to the Minister of Health and the Premier. The final report will be released to the media across Ontario.

The public is invited to watch and participate in the hearings, and there will be spots available for those who have not booked presentations in advance. In order to book a spot to make a presentation (7 mins), please contact us as soon as possible and leave us your phone number(s), the town at which you would like to present, and any preferred times.
