The one-thousandth Model 3200 monoplace hyperbaric chamber to be designed and manufactured by HBO leader, Sechrist Industries, will be delivered to the Medical Center of Plano in Plano, Texas. The milestone, achieved by no other hyperbaric technology company, attests to the increasing demand for hyperbaric oxygenation in a wide variety of indications. Overall, Sechrist has delivered thousands of hyperbaric chambers, and the Sechrist Model 3200 is considered the gold standard of the industry.
According to Ed Pulwer, president and chief executive officer, Sechrist Industries, "We are honored to deliver this chamber, as well as the one-thousand and first, to this new state-of-the-art center that will be serving the community of Plano, Texas. The interest in and applications for hyperbaric oxygenation are increasing and Sechrist continues to innovate and advance hyperbaric technology to meet the need."
Ronald G. Scott, MD, medical director of the Medical Center of Plano said, "It's with great pleasure that I accept the one-thousandth Sechrist chamber. In 1985, we started the first wound care and hyperbaric program in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex at the Medical Center of Plano. At that time, we took delivery of Sechrist chamber number 151. It is a great tribute to the people of Sechrist that they have actively contributed to the advancement of wound care and hyperbaric medicine as our partner over these many decades. We have found their craftsmanship to be second to none. We thank them on behalf of the people of our community for this top-of-the-line equipment."
The Sechrist 3200 is a pneumatically controlled system that features a spacious 32-inch inside diameter acrylic cylinder to increase patient mobility and comfort. Important functions like ventilation support, intravenous transfusion and transcutaneous and other monitoring can all be provided to a patient while inside the chamber receiving hyperbaric oxygenation. A patient entertainment system and two-way intercom make treatments easy, even enjoyable, for patients. Sechrist is notable in that it controls all aspects of both design and manufacture of its chambers, thus assuring quality control.
"We're very excited about receiving this chamber," stated Kathy Zeller, program director of Diversified Clinical Services for the Medical Center of Plano. "We're constantly working to improve patient care and advanced technologies like the Sechrist chamber really assist in that commitment. We like to say Healing Wounds – Changing Lives."
