Paradigm Rehab and Nursing signs contract to use PSA's Mobipen Care System

Patient Access Solutions, Inc. (Pink Sheets:PASO), a provider of digital pen and paperwork technologies that provide the healthcare industry a graceful migration to Electronic Medical Records (EMR), today announced that Paradigm Rehab and Nursing has signed a contract to use the PASHealth D-PAS, digital pen and paper, Mobipen Care System (www.mobipen-usa.com) to improve the standard of the service within their homecare industry. The first phase of the program will be instituted with the Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy staff of Paradigm.

Patient Access Solution's Mobipen Care System powered by Anoto functionality and created with the Swedish IT company Catrel AB, is bringing to the $55 Billion annual home health care market a smart and simple way to successfully complete documentation. Paradigm's staff will use the digital pen to document all of their actions every time they visit a patient. To transfer the information stored in the pen, it is placed in a small docking station, and all the information is transferred into the patient's individual files. Mobipen effectively addresses Paradigm's financial, administrative, clinical, and regulatory needs with simplicity and ease of use.

"We are convinced that Mobipen will help us create a better work environment," stated James Clark, a spokesman for Paradigm Rehab and Nursing. "Our patients and homecare staff will feel more secure by having all actions documented. What's also great is there is nothing new to learn – the most natural and well known work tools are being used, a pen and paper," Clark added.

Mobipen collects information such as: the name of the staff that has attended to the patient; what kind of help or service has been provided; how much time was spent on each patient; and any possible changes in the patient's health situation.

"Another added benefit of the Mobipen Care System is that all documentation gained from a visit to a patient can be used as a receipt," stated Bruce Weitzberg, CEO and president of Patient Access Solutions. "The receipt can prove that the nursing staff and/or therapists have provided the required help and time to the patient. The receipt can be left in a folder in the patient's house so relatives can be informed whether or not the required help has been giving to their family member. The receipt can even be used as a great working tool because often many different staff provides help to one individual patient. The staff will be able to offer a better and more secure service, because they can read the history of the patient on the receipt.

"We are convinced that Mobipen Care can be an evolutional solution within the home health care industry all over the country. This program will save our agency thousands of dollars a year," added Clark.
