“Despite recent progress, investors have largely ignored the stem cell sector because the technical challenges have seemed insurmountable”
"Despite recent progress, investors have largely ignored the stem cell sector because the technical challenges have seemed insurmountable," said Jason Kolbert, Managing Director, Head of Healthcare Research, at National Securities Corporation. "However, it is fair to compare the current state of the stem cell industry to the field of monoclonal antibodies more than a decade ago. In a similar manner, we expect advancements in stem cell science to lead to dramatic breakthroughs in the near future, which makes the SCIENCE quite timely."
Keynote speakers include Dr. Robert J. Hariri, M.D., Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer of Celgene Cellular Therapeutics, a division of Celgene Corporation (CELG). Participating Companies include: Aastrom Biosciences (ASTM), Athersys, Inc. (ATHX), BioTime, Inc. (BTIM), NeoStem, Inc. (NBS), Neuralstem, Inc. (CUR), Pluristem Therapeutics, Inc. (PSTI), and StemCells, Inc. (STEM). For an updated list of participating companies, please visit the conference website at www.mdbpartners.com/science/.
The SCIENCE program is strategically designed to unite investors with industry executives to exchange information and highlight opportunities in the expanding stem cell universe. The event will bring together the founding visionary researchers, clinicians, entrepreneurs, key investors, and other stakeholders to offer compelling panel discussions, share information, and discuss the future of the field.
The Conference will include panel discussions, Q&A sessions, networking opportunities, and provide a unique forum designed to foster collaborations, economic development, and investment.
