Sorin Group to distribute CardioMedical's entire Cardio Vision MIS Portfolio

Sorin Group, (Reuters Code: SORN.MI)(MIL:SRN), a global company and a leader in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, announced today that it has entered into a distribution agreement, effective May 1, 2010, with CardioMedical GmbH, making Sorin Group, CardioMedical's selected partner for the entire Cardio Vision™ MIS Portfolio which is a comprehensive catalogue of minimally invasive cardiac surgery instruments and accessories.

The Cardio Vision™ product line is a range of Minimally Invasive Heart Valve Surgery (MIS) instruments including retractors, clamps, forceps, scissors and needle holders. Cardio Vision™ instruments were developed in cooperation with leading cardiac surgeons and include Cardio Vision™'s third generation of tubular shaft instruments incorporating state-of-the-art MIS technology.

"Cardio Vision™'s portfolio has an important strategic fit with our complete range of heart valves and annuloplasty rings and with our Perceval S, self expanding surgical sutureless valve. This combined offering will empower the surgeon to remove the diseased valve and replace it as minimally invasively as they deem appropriate. This is another example of our continued commitment to provide cardiac surgeons with the best tools, implants and procedures ", said Davide Bianchi, President Heart Valves Business Unit, Sorin Group.
