Emerging Healthcare Solutions, Inc. (Pink Sheets:EHSI) announced today that a new breakthrough iPhone app is being developed to dramatically reduce medication errors for senior citizens. Millions of seniors in America take a confusing array of medications to improve their quality of life. When they forget to take their medications or confuse dosage and administration times, they suffer. EHSI's new "Auto-Med" application is being designed to automatically call users every day to remind them at the precise time of exactly what medication and dosage they are to take based upon their doctor's recommendation.
"Over the last few years, there have been amazing breakthroughs in medications that have helped improve the health and longevity of seniors. All of these drugs, however, have two things in common. If you don't take the drug it will do you no good and if you don't take it correctly it could potentially harm or even kill you," notes EHSI President and COO, Cindy Morrissey. Our medication management system, named Auto-Med, will call users on a predetermined schedule every day to remind them of the time, medication and dosage that has been prescribed for them to take. This can save lives, reduce frustration and improve the health and safety of millions of seniors in America," she concluded.
The company expects to complete this application for delivery within the next 60 days and to offer it on a subscription basis for $10.00 per month (to cover the costs of phone lines, etc.). The Company's goal is to enroll 1,000,000 subscribers within the first year.
Consumers spent $2.4 Billion last year purchasing iPhone apps - a number that is expected to triple in the next three years. With 34 Million iPhone users currently connected to the system, the Company believes the Auto-Med application could experience wide consumer appeal.
The iPhone is a portable data device produced by Apple, Inc. (NASDAQ: APPL). It allows users to download and operate "applications" that empower the portable device to deliver a wide variety of additional services. The iPhone competes with Google, Inc's (NASDAQ: GOOG) Android system and with Research-in-Motion's (NASDAQ: RIMM) Blackberry phones. The emerging Telemedicine sector also includes Allscripts-Misys Healthcare Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ: MDRX).
