ADF Solutions, Inc., the leading provider of forensic triage tools for computers and peripherals, is pleased to announce that it has been granted a patent by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office pertaining to methods of searching forensic data. The patent has critical applications for forensic triage, cyber-security, cyber-intelligence, digital forensics, and e-discovery.
The patent covers the company's innovative SearchPak® technology, which enables an organization to capture its digital forensic investigative strategy and share it across organizations and with other individuals while not revealing the actual content. The SearchPak hides the complexity of the detailed forensic search definition and stores it in a secure container that can be deployed and used by non-forensically trained operators. This process allows analysts and forensic examiners to control precisely the job performed by the operators.
For law enforcement and intelligence agencies, the SearchPak technology allows the agencies to share digital intelligence for investigations while still maintaining secrecy. This has been a major breakthrough for key agencies, as the inability to share key intelligence was identified as a major issue leading to the 9/11 attacks.
"This patent rewards ADF's efforts to bring innovative technologies to the digital forensics and cyber-security fields," said Raphael Bousquet, CTO and co-founder of ADF Solutions. "We are working on many other technologies as innovative as our SearchPaks, such as CapturePaks™ and ActivitySensor™, to extend the applicability of our tools."
