Medical Strategic Planning (MSP) announces enhancements to the widely-used EHR Selector™ (www.ehrselector.com), which empowers Regional Extension Centers (RECs) to quickly qualify EHR products and individually track thousands of practices deploying critically-vetted electronic health record (EHR) solutions. The enhanced MSP EHR Selector™ empowers RECs (and consultants) to custom-tailor EHRs to fit individual practice needs, expand EHR solutions, track selection progress, reduce EHR costs, and enhance workflow making healthcare practices safer, more efficient and decision-support based.
“In combination with User, REC and Global Profiles, Keyword Search, embedded KLAS user-satisfaction rankings, critically-vetted features and REC-criteria customization, the MSP EHR Selector™ represents the state-of-the-art for web-based EHR comparison tools.”
These improvements allow RECs to build longitudinal statistics across their entire Priority Primary-Care Provider (PPCP) client pools, contact PPCPs individually or as a group, report planning status (EHR short-list picked, demo and site visit completed, RFP issued, and EHR selected). This facilitates finding a custom-fit, MU-compliant EHR qualified for ARRA/HITECH reimbursement incentives, helping RECs rapidly achieve their second and third ONC payment milestones. Finding qualified EHR solutions is as simple as creating an MSP EHR Selector™ REC profile.
The MSP EHR Selector™ (content authored by Caroline Samuels MD), is a partnership between MSP and CSMed, in collaboration with professional societies and health IT organizations. MSP, the EHR application architects, have helped healthcare professionals locate EHRs that enhance workflow and avoid the thirty percent (AMA News) post-deployment EHR deinstall rate.
"My experience providing tools that simplify EHR adoption, my years as a practicing physician and an EHR consultant, have helped to make the EHR Selector™ a superior tool for physicians and RECs," said Caroline Samuels, M.D. - CSMed's Managing Member and MSP's EHR vetting partner. "Since I authored the EHR Selector in 2001, it has been continually enhanced to better serve the needs of practicing physicians moving from paper-based to EHR-based practices. Verification of EHR functionality through the vetting process remains essential, as the EHR certification process defines the "floor," and vetted items represent technically-challenging premium functionality."
"These latest enhancements to the MSP EHR Selector™ are based on inputs from PacEHR and four Texas RECs, who suggested how to hone it to streamline their operations," said Arthur Gasch, MSP Founder. "In combination with User, REC and Global Profiles, Keyword Search, embedded KLAS user-satisfaction rankings, critically-vetted features and REC-criteria customization, the MSP EHR Selector™ represents the state-of-the-art for web-based EHR comparison tools."
MSP provides tools that help healthcare professionals to:
