Medical Exchange announces next generation of continuing medical education events

Medical Exchange, an innovative provider of medical education solutions for the health care industry, today announced the next generation of continuing medical education events with the launch of collaborativeCARE Conference (C3).

“C3 will create an entire marketplace of individuals dedicated to improving health care”

The announcement comes in response to market demand for unbiased, evidence-based CME designed to improve curriculum delivery and quality of health care. C3 will provide integrated education across the health care spectrum to advance coordinated care and improve patient outcomes. The C3 model brings together innovative learning and networking solutions for specialists, primary care practitioners and patients. C3 offers a platform to deliver world-class CME while convening key stakeholders to facilitate unparalleled business building opportunities in an innovative and cost-effective way.

C3 Co-Founder John Mooney, a veteran of the primary care physician education industry, recognized the need for truly innovative CME on a national level offered through regional events that reach all constituents of the health care community. "With the creation of collaborativeCARE Conference, we are changing the paradigm of CME by establishing the only company that educates specialists, PCPs, patients and their families using the same integrated education platform over a six day period," said Mooney. "In collaboration with our curriculum partner, C3 is poised to reform CME events at a level never before seen."

C3 will provide world-class educational opportunities for physicians across 12 major specialties- cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, hematology, infectious disease, nephrology, neurology, obstetrics & gynecology, oncology, psychiatry, pulmonary medicine, and rheumatology - through a content agreement with Lighthouse Learning, a fully independent provider of medical education for physicians. Because Lighthouse Learning does not accept funding from industry for the development of its curricula, C3 attendees will receive education free from bias or conflicts of interest.

"Lighthouse Learning's nationally recognized Curriculum Directors oversee the development of our educational programs based on up-to-date medical information from across the globe," said Martin A. Samuels, MD, DSc(hon), FAAN, MACP, FRCP, Chairman, Department of Neurology, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Professor of Neurology, Harvard Medical School, and Director of Medical Education, Lighthouse Learning. "The C3 conference offers the ideal opportunity to bring Lighthouse's world-class curriculum to physicians regionally, equipping them with the information they need to deliver the highest quality care."

Presenters at the conference's sessions will be hand-picked by Lighthouse Learning for their leadership in the most pressing topics within each of the 12 specialty areas to provide physician attendees with actionable information that can be immediately applied to their practice.

C3 will revolutionize the medical trade show industry by providing cost-effective booth solutions to industry. Turnkey solutions will minimize fixed and variable costs, decrease exhibition overhead, lower the cost-per-detail and improve tradeshow ROI. By arranging the exhibition floor by specialty area, C3 provides ease of navigation for attendees and directs more qualified leads to exhibitors. The floor features pharmaceutical companies, diagnostic equipment, health information, medical technology, hospital networks and managed care organizations. Specialized networking opportunities will be offered throughout the event specifically designed to meet the needs of specialists, PCPs and members of the industry. Conferences will take place in ten cities by 2013 with the launch event in Long Beach, California from November 15 - 20, 2011.

"C3 will create an entire marketplace of individuals dedicated to improving health care," said Mooney. "Physicians will leave this unique conference both better informed and better prepared to work together in order to improve patient outcomes."
