The fire at a building in Sydney’s west that used to house a medical centre is called suspicious by the Police. As the fire raged emergency services were called to Popondetta Road, Emerton, about 9pm yesterday.
The vacant building was on fire acting Inspector Steve Vuletas of Mount Druitt police said. As the fire-fighters extinguished the fire, nearby businesses were evacuated as a precaution, police said. There were no injuries or other casualties but the building’s carpet was damaged by fire and water.
Acting Inspector Vuletas informed that investigators were on the case to determine the cause of the fire. A crime scene has been established.
