IAS calls on leaders to include HIV cure research in global strategy

The International AIDS Society (IAS) in a statement released ahead of the U.N. High Level Meeting on AIDS "calls on leaders to ensure the inclusion of HIV cure research and its global strategy into the international HIV agenda and in all discussions, political decisions and funding strategies." The organization says it "strongly believes that the inclusion of HIV cure research in the global agenda is a time sensitive priority if we are ever to envisage the eradication of viral reservoirs and subsequently the long-term remission of infected individuals" (6/7).
