Youngevity announces acquisition of R-Garden

Youngevity Essential Life Sciences, an international nutritional products company, announced its acquisition of R-Garden, Inc. The acquisition of R-Garden's Customers, Distributors, and Product Line expands Youngevity's already substantial "network cloud" of Distributors and Customers and their social networking reach.

R-Garden, located in Washington State, is a 20-year-old designer and provider of a line of high quality nutritional supplements including vitamin, mineral, and unique plant enzyme supplements.  Since it was founded in 1991, R-Garden has grown from offering a single product to providing a full range of high quality nutritional supplements, and has served tens of thousands of Customers and Distributors.

Steve Wallach, CEO of Youngevity said the acquisition is the most recent in a series of acquisitions that are part of the company's growth strategy of mobilizing customers and distributors and their social reach or "network cloud." Word-of-mouth advertising, or referral marketing, is very powerful in today's social networking world. "Over our 14-year history, nearly 600,000 people have purchased products from the Youngevity family of companies. These contacts—and their social influence—are one of our most valuable resources," he said.

R-Garden brings thousands of active customers and distributors and in excess of 20,000 customer accounts. Sales for R-Garden were approximately $3 million in 2010.

"Bringing R-Garden into the Youngevity family is the latest step in our expansion strategy. In addition to organic growth, acquisitions like R-Garden allow us to grow geometrically by giving both companies' Distributors and Customers access to new products and opportunities to expand their social reach," Wallach said.

Youngevity CFO Chris Nelson said the R-Garden acquisition will be funded from operations.

On June 17, 2011, Youngevity signed a definitive merger agreement with Javalution Coffee Company (JCOF.PK), a fully vertically integrated, Miami-based coffee roasting and distribution company, owner of the direct marketing brand JavaFit and retail brand Cafe La Rica, and the category creator of functional gourmet coffee, as well as the wholly owned subsidiary CLR Roasters.
