Science reports on reform in China's health care system

Science examines reforms taking place within the Chinese health care system, which "aim to expand infrastructure, cover the poor, and combat chronic diseases," according to the journal. "A white paper released by China's State Council last December outlines the basic tenets of the reforms, which include expanding insurance coverage, reconfiguring drug pricing, and promoting primary care," Science writes, adding, "The reform drive also includes money for research into traditional Chinese medicines and an overhaul of the drug pricing system -- a move that could affect pharmaceutical research."
