Public Health and Health Planning Council approves formation of Physicians Endoscopys’ Island Digestive Health Center

Physicians Endoscopy, LLC (PE), along with a coalition of five local GI physicians that includes the practice of Island Digestive Disease Consultants, doctors Kourosh Adhami, MD; Neil Lobo, MD; James Kohlroser, DO; Babak Danesh, MD; and Krishnaiyer Subramani, MD, a solo physician whose practice is located in West Islip, are pleased to announce the formation of Island Digestive Health Center (IDHC).

The project received Public Health and Health Planning Council approval on August 29, 2013. Projected to open in the first quarter of 2014, construction on the new three-room center, located in West Islip, Suffolk County, New York, will begin immediately.

"For many years we've all practiced office-based endoscopy within our professional practices; however, now is the perfect time to develop a new state-of-the-art facility. The regulatory environment within the office is becoming more and more difficult, and the headaches that result from trying to maintain a high quality, office-based procedural environment are no longer satisfying for me or my GI colleagues.  We have been very pleased with Physicians Endoscopy's ability to help organize, coordinate and execute a strategy to bring together our two practices in this joint ventured relationship," stated Babak Danesh, MD, Medical Director.

Physicians Endoscopy is a nationally recognized development and management partner for single-specialty EASCs. The company currently operates 30 partnered facilities in 13 states and will open several additional facilities in the next twelve months. For more information, please visit www.endocenters.com.
