Bay Area Surgical Management reaches agreement to become in-network provider for Cigna

Bay Area Surgical Management (BASM), one of the largest and fastest growing ambulatory surgery center providers in the San Francisco Bay Area, has reached an agreement to become an in-network provider for Cigna, one of the country's largest health insurance companies.

On November 1, 2013, all Bay Area Surgical Management surgery centers became part of Cigna's local Bay Area network.

Bobby Sarnevesht, BASM's spokesperson, said he looks forward to the future of BASM's participation within Cigna's provider network.  "I am very excited to be a part of this network," he said. "Some payers are looking only at the bottom line and don't care about quality or accountability.  As Cigna grows its network, Cigna still has a patient-care-first attitude in mind."

BASM operates five service centers in Burlingame, Los Altos, Los Gatos, Santa Clara, and San Jose, where it offers cutting-edge care in the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, urology, gynecology, general surgery, podiatry and gastroenterology specialties. BASM also operates a state-of-the-art imaging and urgent care center in Santa Clara, where patients receive MRI, CT, ultrasound and X-ray services.
