The Diplomatic Council (DC, www.diplomatic-council.org) and the International Society for Telemedicine and eHealth (ISfTeH, www.isfteh.org) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a formal partnership between the two organisations. The MoU acknowledges collaboration between the Global Healthcare Forum of the Diplomatic Council and the ISfTeH advancing an interdisciplinary approach to telemedicine and eHealth.
In many countries, telemedicine is of crucial importance because it improves the medical care for the population living in isolated communities. In using its global network, which includes ambassadors and consuls, the Diplomatic Council wishes to support countries around the world to enhance their medical infrastructure for the benefits of their residents. For this purpose the Diplomatic Council Global Healthcare Forum organizes, amongst other things, ambassadors’ briefings in order to update its ambassadors, as representatives of their respective countries, on the current development in the medical sector.
The mission of the International Society for Telemedicine and eHealth is to facilitate the international dissemination of knowledge and experience in telemedicine and eHealth and to provide access to recognized experts in the field worldwide. The ISfTeH membership includes national associations, associates, institutions, corporate, individual, nurses and students. ISfTeH fosters the sharing of knowledge and experiences across organizations and across borders and aims to promote the widespread use of ICT tools and solutions in health and social care.
