Gore announces nominees for 2014-2015 Pioneers in Performance Awards for Latin America

W. L. Gore & Associates (Gore) today announced the nominees and opening of voting for the 2014-2015 Pioneers in Performance Awards for Latin America. The announcement came at the Congreso Internacional Cirugia Endovascular 2014 (CICE) conference in São Paulo.

Each year, a distinguished group of physicians are honored with the Pioneers in Performance Awards sponsored by Gore. The award recognizes physicians for their unrelenting dedication to advancing vascular and endovascular therapy and minimally invasive treatment options for patients worldwide, including aortic and lower-limb bypass and dialysis access surgery. This year's nominees can be viewed by visiting pioneersinperformance.com/la/.

The academy of past recipients of the Pioneers in Performance Awards selected the nominees. Voting is now open to the medical community and is available via the mobile-optimized online site and at Gore pavilions at major clinical conferences throughout the year. Voting closes February 2015 and ballots are kept confidential. Final winners will be honored at a special reception at CICE 2015.

Physicians were chosen across four major categories that reflect a strong and ongoing commitment to improving clinical and patient performance through collaboration. The categories include: a commitment to ongoing learning, dedication to sharing knowledge with peers and patients, dedication to creating consensus within the medical community, and a dedication to analysis of outcomes.

"Each year, the Pioneers in Performance program recognizes the exemplary work of those physicians responsible for driving medical innovations in vascular and endovascular surgery," said David Abeyta, Leader of the Gore Medical Products Division. "This year is no exception as we highlight physicians operating at the forefront of their field in Latin America. We congratulate the 2014-2015 nominees and look forward to seeing who the physician community will honor."

Gore invites those attending CICE 2014 to join them in congratulating the 2014-2015 Pioneers in Performance Latin America nominees during a special reception, taking place the evening of Friday, April 25 at CICE 2014 Party at the Sheraton São Paulo.
