Tanner Labs announces launch of new corporate wellness platform

Tanner Labs, the nimble new research and development arm of O.C. Tanner, is proud to announce Welbe™, a new corporate wellness platform designed to advance the health and financial well-being of people and the companies they work for. Welbe incentivizes healthy lifestyle choices and provides corporate wellness administrators and company leaders with aggregate information about the overall well-being of their organization. Tanner Labs will unveil Welbe for the first time in the Welbe Booth #3073 at the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) Conference taking place June 23-25 in Orlando, FL.

Taking a holistic approach to corporate health and wellness, Welbe leverages wearable devices, mobile apps and employee submitted data to track company-wide and individual worker wellbeing, and rewards employees for achieving goals. For the first time, biometrics, financial, social, nutrition and sleep data can all be gathered and analyzed, with challenge activities and incentives to meet goals set by employers. The data that Welbe provides to program administrators is voluntary, private, and HIPAA compliant.

"Until now, companies only had static BMI data to look at when developing wellness programs," said Nate Walkingshaw, vice president of Tanner Labs. "We knew there was a better way and set out to invent the first aggregate dashboard of real-time data. We see the Internet of Everything (IoE) as a path to engaging employees in their own health and wellness by connecting to the devices that they use every day."

Welbe works with preferred partners Garmin Vivofit and UP by Jawbone, as well as other popular fitness tools such as Fitbit, RunKeeper, and MyFitnessPal by aggregating data and providing useful reports summarizing wellbeing information. Welbe administrators can create aggregated biometric reports in real-time and dive deep into data on employees' activity levels, financial fitness, challenge activities, and nutritional health. Incentives to meet challenges are set by employers and paid out in the form of instantly redeemable digital gift cards from brands such as: Amazon, Nike, Nordstrom, Home Depot, Target, GAP and Starbucks. Leaderboards add an element of gamifaction that gives extra motivation to employees.

"We're very excited to partner with O.C. Tanner and Tanner Labs as a preferred corporate wellness platform for corporations and their employees," said Dan Bartel, Garmin vice president of worldwide sales. "Welbe complements our commitment to creating products that help people reach their health goals, and together we'll be able to greatly encourage healthy lifestyles in the workplace all over the world."

"For the first time ever, companies have access to detailed wellness intelligence - real-time analytics with aggregated reports on the fly and the ability to evaluate the activity levels, financial fitness, nutritional health and stress cessation of the employee population," said Walkingshaw. "Welbe directly connects real-time activity to daily and monthly program spend and annual data to show the connection between the company's wellness program initiatives and reductions in stop-loss claims."

HR directors, wellness coordinators and managers working for companies of between 200 - 8,000 employees are ideal candidates for Welbe. Beyond employee health and wellness intelligence, a reduction in insurance premiums is also possible if administrators can show an improvement in overall biometric data and link to the organization improving wellbeing.
