New online medical professional video center from Mayo Clinic

Mayo Clinic is now making its video education medical grand rounds lectures and clinical presentations on recent innovations in patient care, education and research accessible to other medical professionals in the new online medical professional video center.

These lectures contain new practice procedures, treatment options and research covering a wide variety of specialties. For example, a video lecture on Choline C-11 treatment for recurrent prostate cancer describes the benefits to patients as well as the production, imaging and processing facilities necessary to provide the treatment. Another, fecal microbiota transplant, provides step-by-step details of how the procedure is completed so providers and patients can see the process from beginning to end.

"In addition to serving our patients here, we are committed to sharing information with the world of medicine. We are constantly developing, refining and improving new and better techniques in medicine. We have a moral responsibility to share that information with the wider medical community and are enabling that distribution through the Medical Professional Video Center," says John T. Wald, M.D., medical director for marketing and public affairs, Mayo Clinic.

The programs can be viewed at medprofvideos.mayoclinic.org. Healthcare professionals can watch videos describing clinical and research advances in disease and condition treatment, procedures and surgeries. Videos are also available on the National Library of Medicine website.
