Diplomat's clinical technology manager honored as finalist in 2014 Next-Generation Pharmacist awards

Diplomat, the nation's largest independent specialty pharmacy, is proud to announce that clinical technology manager Mike Crowe, PharmD, MBA, CSP, FMPA, was honored as a finalist in the 2014 Next-Generation™ Pharmacist awards. Crowe was selected as a finalist in two categories: rising star, which recognizes pharmacists defining the future standard of pharmacy practice, and specialty pharmacist, which recognizes pharmacists who excel in providing specialty pharmacy services and demonstrate innovation in specialty services.

The annual Next-Generation Pharmacist Awards, sponsored through a partnership of Parata Systems and Pharmacy Times, recognize outstanding professionals in 10 categories: civic leader, entrepreneur, future pharmacist, lifetime leadership, military pharmacist, patient care provider, rising star, specialty pharmacist, technician and technology innovator. This year, more than 500 individuals were nominated, with three finalists selected for each category.

"The judges had a strong, diverse group of pharmacists to choose from," said Ashley Hennessy Talamo, publisher at Pharmacy Times. "Every finalist represents the best and brightest of each category, and they are all making a difference in their fields."

As clinical technology manager at Diplomat, Crowe works closely with clinical services and business stakeholders determining the data to be collected as well as the collection methods. Crowe is also responsible for determining how the data can be utilized to demonstrate positive outcomes within the specialty pharmacy arena.

An active member in the pharmacy community, Crowe serves as the vice speaker of the Michigan Pharmacists Association and is also an officer on its executive board. Crowe is also chairman, past president and founder of the Genesee County Pharmacists Association.
