HDM introduces new Z1 Auto CPAP that customizes therapy by monitoring pressure requirements

On Friday, December 12, 2014 Human Design Medical, LLC (HDM) announced its Z1 Auto™ CPAP, which makes a quantum leap forward in CPAP therapy. The new Z1 Auto customizes therapy for each individual by monitoring pressure requirements thousands of times per night. Unlike fixed pressure CPAP devices, the Z1 Auto automatically responds to changes in breathing patterns and delivers maximum comfort by using the lowest possible therapy pressure throughout the sleep cycle.

The Z1 Auto is arriving just one year on the heels of the Z1® CPAP, which was the most successful retail CPAP launch in history. The Z1 redefined CPAP portability with its integrated PowerShell® and overnight lithium-ion battery. The Z1 Auto employs the same power options and, weighing in at just over 10 ounces, fits in the palm of your hand. While being the smallest and lightest Auto CPAP in the world, the Z1 Auto is the ultimate sleep therapy solution for travelers and outdoor enthusiasts alike.

The Z1 Auto is paired with a revolutionary new iOS App called Nitelog™. Nitelog syncs most iOS devices upon command with the Z1 Auto to display immediate and complete therapy results such as Apnea/Hypopnea Count, Usage Hours, Apnea/Hypopnea Index and Pressure. These results are available in day-week-month presentations and may be shared with a healthcare provider or physician by e-mail. Nitelog's data sharing capabilities represent a great advance in monitoring for therapy compliance.

Nitelog is available free for Z1 Auto users at the iTunes App Store™. Nitelog is a tremendous feedback mechanism and therapy reinforcement tool for the Z1 Auto user.

"Our team of 'Boston's brightest' engineers have worked diligently over the last several months to bring about a breakthrough in CPAP Therapy and user feedback technology. We are very proud of this accomplishment and what it means to CPAP users worldwide," said Kevin Librett, Executive Vice President - Engineering at HDM.

"The Z1 Auto alone is a giant leap forward in CPAP technology and portability, and coupling it with Nitelog has created a CPAP user's best friend. Now users can sync their device with their phone to monitor their sleep data as their first activity upon awakening. This truly is an exciting advancement for a sleep therapy device that was designed with the user in mind," explains Steve Moore, Senior Vice President - Sales and Marketing for HDM.

From my experience with the Z1 released about a year ago, although a very small machine, it was too noisy and very difficult to breath with.  Very expensive machine.    We were promised that they would give us free upgrades of great features.  , they gave us nothing.  They have made the machine we bought a year ago, basically absolete.   As bad as the machine is, dealing with the company is the worst.   Definetly would go for a Transcend machine as a traveling choice
