Dotmatics releases new version of Inventory module

Mobile access facilitates the inventory and tracking of biologicals, chemicals and laboratory resources

Dotmatics, the leading provider of scientific informatics solutions and services, announced today the release of a new version of its Inventory module which is fully integrated with the Dotmatics Platform. Inventory enables the tracking of chemical samples, as well as biological entities and laboratory resources including instruments and consumables. The Dotmatics Inventory module eliminates tracking errors and inconsistencies associated with traditional paper inventories and it optimises the use of resources leading to a more efficient research organisation.

"Organisations are increasingly asking us to replace their outdated methods of tracking and tracing chemicals, plates and biologicals with our Inventory solution" said Alastair Hill, CTO at Dotmatics. "We are investing heavily in this area to ensure that our Inventory system is the most robust, scalable and flexible in the market as we are committed to delivering solutions that add significant value to the work of our existing and future customers."

Dotmatics' Inventory is a module that enables the tracking and tracing of chemical and biological samples as well as consumables and lab equipment. Inventory is a web-based solution that can be deployed in the Cloud or on in-house servers. This guarantees that it can be accessed from workstations or from mobile devices. Inventory has a flexible location configuration enabling organisations to easily re-map storage arrangements in real time. It optimises the process of selecting and tracking samples and plates across multiple sites thus minimising waste and containing cost. Used in conjunction with Cascade, Dotmatics' work request module, the system becomes a powerful tool that optimises laboratory processes and testing. Latest enhancements of Inventory will enable users to upload bulk samples easily, maintain a record of plates/samples and create audit reports. The module is fully interconnected with Studies Notebook and Register which facilitate automatic stock tracking.
