Healthcare technology social event of the year opens entries

Applications for the North West Medilink Healthcare Business Awards 2016 are now open.

The awards are the region's biggest event for celebrating innovation, growth and commercial success in the Healthcare Technologies and Life Sciences sector.

Building on last year’s success at the North West Christmas Dinner, the sector’s leading business people, clinicians, academics and key opinion leaders will attend this celebration of Healthcare Technology.

The event will be held on the afternoon of Friday 12 February 2016, at the iconic Victoria Warehouse Manchester, which has stood as a symbol of industrial strength and innovation for over 100 years.

The awards categories for this year are:

• The North West Coast AHSN Partnership with the NHS Award: for the development of a collaboration with the NHS that has, or will have, a major impact or benefit on business performance or patient care
• The Innovation Award: for the development of an innovative technology, design or process that has produced major improvements in business performance or end user benefits
• The UKTI Export Achievement Award: for outstanding performance in international trade
• The Start-Up Award: for newly established companies (trading up to three years) in the Healthcare Technologies sector that show a promising future
• The Outstanding Achievement Award: for an achievement that has had a significant or vital impact on the company

The winners of these five awards will then be put forward for consideration for the coveted national Medilink UK title in April 2016.

We are also pleased to introduce two new award categories:

• The Skills Development Award: For the development of organizational skills (i.e. programmed, training, culture, courses) that has/can have a significant or vital impact on the company and its employees
• Partnership with Academia: for the development of a collaboration with Academia that has, or will have, a major impact or benefit on business performance or patient care.

Deadline for entries is 12 noon on Friday 18 December. Companies can enter more than one category.
