Catapult to introduce technology innovation opportunities at MTI EXPO 2016

The UK is a global leader in innovation, but much of this innovation ends up being commercialised and produced outside of the country. Bridging the high-risk and high-cost journey from innovation to UK-manufactured reality, is key to commercial success. Much of the technology innovation developed in sectors such as aerospace and automotive, now successfully transfers to medical technologies also.

As part of EXPO’s highly targeted seminar sessions the UK’s High Value Manufacturing (HVM) Catapult introduces the technology innovation opportunities it offers to the Med-Tech sector, and shares the stage with a number of Med-Tech companies who successfully work with the Catapult. These include:

  • The Centre for Process Innovation - helping Med-Tech business progress
  • The Manufacturing Technology Centre - Design for Additive Manufacturing in Med-Tech
  • Medical Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, which will offer a number of SME case studies.

EXPO seminar lessons from the HVM’s seven centres across the country will illustrate the full range of manufacturing technology capabilities, from materials to biologics and from automation to virtual reality, from additive manufacturing to metal forming.

The HVM works with businesses of all sizes and many sectors in order to help turn ideas into commercial applications by addressing the gap in, and accelerating the activity between technology concept and commercialization.   The HVM urges vistors and exhibitors alike to attend the seminar sessions at EXPO and to visit it on its Stand XX there.
