Tell us about the company and why you are attending Analytica 2018?
GNA Biosolutions is a molecular technology company based in Martinsried, next to Munich – we created a unique technology platform called Pulse Controlled Amplification (PCA) that uses microcyclers within the reaction volume and rapid energy pulses to make nucleic acid amplification ultrafast.
Analytica is a great event for us to spread the word about our products and technology and it gives us the opportunity to connect live with customers and partners from around the world.
What products are you highlighting at Analytica 2018?
We launched the Pharos V8, the first commercially available Laser PCR® instrument in November 2017. Laser PCR® is based on our PCA technology.
Conventional platforms rely on thermocyclers that limit reaction speed but in Laser PCR® a high-powered laser is used to selectively heat gold nanoparticles in solution - this creates temperatures ramps a million times faster than conventional PCR and reaction times 10 times faster than those achieved in conventional systems.
We also offer a Universal assay kit that lets users develop the tests they need for any DNA target sequence, with a simple, easy to use kit for real-time detection.
What makes this product different from anything else on the market?
The Pharos V8 is different from the inside out – it’s the only Laser PCR instrument on the market, combining high detection sensitivity with unparalleled speed. Laser pulses control the speed of nucleic acid amplification, with real-time results in 10 minutes or less. The Pharos V8 delivers accurate, reliable results across a range of targets and high sensitivity even in large reaction volumes.
Which industries will benefit from this product?
Speed combined with sensitivity is a powerful combination that can solve real-world problems in many different environments. We see benefits across a wide range of industries including infectious disease testing, water and food safety, agriculture and biosecurity.
