Wondfo training center is jointly launched in the University of Nairobi

In early July, Wondfo, collaborating with the University of Nairobi in Kenya, officially launched a laboratory training center. Senior executives from Wondfo, faculty members, students and local distributors attended the launching ceremony. Based on our flagships and technologies, we strive to help improve the capability of students and their lecturers in operating diagnostic equipment, and in this way, we hope to ease the burden of infectious diseases and chronic diseases with point-of-care testing.

In July, 2022, an idea was put forward in Wondfo to set up a joint training center in the medical laboratory at the University of Nairobi. Then in April 2023, Wondfo and the University of Nairobi signed a memorandum of understanding regarding that Wondfo becomes the exclusive cooperator from China with the University of Nairobi to launch the laboratory training center.

To facilitate the launch of the training center, Wondfo has shipped several Wondfo flagships to the University, such as Finecare™ FIA Meters (FS-113, FS-114, FS-205), Accre CLIA Analyzers (A6, A8, A90), Blood Gas Analyzer BGA-102, Optical Coagulation Analyzer OCG-102, U-Card Dx™ Automated Rapid Molecular Diagnostic Instrument, etc. During the launching ceremony, Wondfo team briefly introduced some features of these products and discussed our vision to help ease the burden of infectious diseases and chronic diseases in the country with our technologies in diagnostic testing.

George Osanjo, dean of the faculty of health sciences at the University of Nairobi, said the establishment of a joint laboratory training center marked a milestone in Sino-Kenya cooperation in the field of medicine.

The laboratory training center also aligns with our vision of deepening academia-industry linkages. It will strengthen clinical services at Kenyatta National Hospital, which is the largest referral hospital in East and Central Africa. Some of the tests that will be carried out at the laboratory training center include toxicology, substance abuse, fertility, cardiovascular, thyroid, diabetes, and common infectious diseases."
