    the downside to SDF is that in arresting decay, it has a very strong tendency to stain it black/dark.

    it's great stuff, but, if I had a choice between a white sealant that will likely last well into adulthood if done right, or SDF which might stop it for a few years and likely stain the grooves black, I'll take the sealant.
