A study like this has lots of data, but it is still getting used in a faulty manner. The authors went out of their way to exclude socio economic confounders, but they still oversimplified reasons for vaccine hesitancy. Not everyone who resisted following the official "guidance" on vaccines did so for the same reason. There are some stupid reasons not to take the vaccine, and stupid people will have those reasons, but there are some more nuanced and educated reasons to be concerned as well. I would have liked to see the numbers broken down further...for instance, it may be and probably is true that amongst those in the 70th percentile of intelligence 95% are vaccinated, but among the 90th percentile, that number drops to 60%. What would that say about intelligence and vaccine hesitancy?

Although the study isn't exactly blinded for social factors given that it's drawn from previous military recruits (how they were able to get psychometric data to cross reference with government registries on vaccine compliance in the first place), a major unconsidered social factor in this group was a pre-selection for (or alternatively, a conditioned response of) obedience to government directives.

My comment has been removed for some reason though, and not just pending approval.
