    The lastest news on smokefree issues in the US is that a number of cities are in the process of debating whether 100% smokefree policies are right for them, right now. For example, in Indianapolis, the city council will vote for a 3rd time to stregnthen their legislation or to delay it further.

    About half of the US population lives in a place where 100% smokefree indoor public places is the norm. This is based on the evidence that secondhand smoke is harmful to people. Debates are happening all over the country - in states, cities, and community colleges - whether the evidence is enough for 100% smokefree to become the norm in these locations, too.
