  1. Heidi Heidi United States says:

My husband has extreme alexithymia. Does his childhood play a big part in developing this disorder? His mother was very controlling, verbally abusive and really showed him zero love. His dad did knothing about her behavior towards his son and in return was the fun, nice and friend dad to him. Wasnt a father figure at all. He as a n adult in his late forties is just getting worse with his alexithymia and as his wife i dont know what to do anymore. It is destroying our familly day to day as he defers the problems as that i am @ fault for everything gone wrong in our marraige for 23 years. He is very much a manipulator and has his whole life conned people into believeing that he is such a nice guy.But infact he is a person that is knothing like that but gets away with it.
